Brianna Simms, 19, of Modesto, was arrested for shoplifting on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 13, after she left the Ceres Walmart after stuffing items in her purse and left the store without paying for them.

Ceres Police Department Sgt. Jose Berber said Simms went into Walmart on Hatch Road and was seen concealing merchandise totaling $53 in her purse. After she walked past the check stand without paying for the goods she was detained by store security personnel. Police were called at 3:27 p.m. and she was arrested and charged with shoplifting.
