Their car crashed and police found drugs inside
Dalton Scales and Riley Utley
Dalton Scales (left) and Riley Utley were both arrested Feb. 18 after their car crashed and police found them with illegal substances.

Two men were arrested Friday morning after their car crashed and responding officers found them with drugs and wanted on warrants.

The crash occurred at 6:37 a.m. in the area of Waynesboro Drive and Monterey Pine Avenue. Ceres Police Officer Christian Izquierdo and other officers responded to the non-injury solo crash. Police found a 2002 Honda Accord high-centered on the sidewalk with its two occupants attempting to push the vehicle back into the street.

One of the men, Dalton Scales, 22, provided a fake name to Officer Izquierdo and during an investigation, ammunition and drug paraphernalia was found on both him and Riley Utley, 24. Suspected methamphetamine was found inside the vehicle as well.

Scales was found to have several outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants for his arrest.

Utley and Scales were arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center, Utley on charges of a felon in possession of ammunition. Scales is being charged with possession of suspected methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and falsely impersonating another person.
