Three persons were arrested when Ceres Police responded to a Saturday evening call about trespassing into a residential backyard in the 1700 block of Ashbury Court.

Police were called at 7:25 p.m. about the suspicious activity at a vacant home. Officers Christian Izquierdo and Matthew Myers responded to the scene. Officer Myers arrived first and observed Jaime Mendez, 40, of Ceres, hopping the fence into the backyard. Mendez was arrested for trespassing and during a search a baggy containing methamphetamine was found in his pocket. Mendez was linked to a grey-colored Hyundai Genesis parked in front of the home.

Officer Izquierdo went to the car and spoke to Manuel Moreno, 41, of Turlock and Kalysta Valek, 23, of Ceres. Moreno was arrested after it was learned that he had a misdemeanor and a felony warrant for his arrest.

Officer Izquierdo found Valek to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Mendez, Valek and Moreno were all booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
