Three Ceres males arrested in Ripon armed robbery

A Ceres man and two Ceres teenagers were arrested this week and charged with committing an armed robbery of a Ripon convenience store.

The armed robbery was reported early Monday at 1:01 a.m. at the AM/PM station at 1340 W. Colony Road. An investigation turned up suspect and vehicle information.  Ceres Police located the car early Monday morning at a home in the 2000 block of Glider Circle in Ceres. With the help of Ceres Police’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, Ripon Police executed a search warrant and arrested Davion Gates, 20, of Ceres. Sinclear Elementary School was locked down during the raid. Gates was transported to the Ripon Police Department and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges of robbery and as a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. Police seized the vehicle and other property as part of the search warrant. 

On Tuesday morning, Ripon Police arrested a 16-year-old Ceres boy who was attending an educational facility in Turlock. On Tuesday afternoon Ripon Police visited a Ceres home to arrest a 17-year-old Ceres boy who is believed the third and final suspect. Both minors were booked into the San Joaquin County Juvenile Hall for their role in the robbery.
