Three persons face shoplifting charges in separate cases at Ceres stores last week.

On Monday, Jan. 19, Robert Soto, 56, of Ceres, was detained by Save Mart store personnel for trying to leave without paying for a comb, two pairs of gloves and crazy Glue worth a grand total of $23.97. He was cited for petty theft at 3:44 p.m. and released.

Payton Scott, 18, of Valley Springs, was seen concealing a bottle of Sweet Revenge worth $16.45 on Saturday evening and walking out of Cost Less Foods without paying for the liquor. She was detained at 6:36 p.m. and then cited by police and released.

Hours later that same day, Angel Crystle, 25, of Modesto, was cited for petty theft when she was observed hiding sandwich meats in her purse before walking out at 10:26 p.m. She told police that she was hungry.
