Transient arrested for drug possession, warrants

A 31-year-old transient man was arrested Tuesday evening, Oct. 22 after a police officer determined he was wanted on drug possession and prior drug charges.

At 10:13 p.m. Officer Alexander Holland was patrolling the business district along Hatch Road when he spotted two men loitering behind the Home Depot store. One of them, Michael Weaver, 31, had two warrants for his arrest on drug charges. Police discovered Weaver was carrying a syringe loaded with a brown liquid suspected to be heroin. He was arrested and booked for the warrants and possession of a controlled substance.
