A Friday evening traffic stop initiated on a vehicle which had license plates registered to another vehicle yielded the arrest of both its driver and passenger for different reasons.

At approximately 5:11 p.m., Officer Aaron Pinon was following a gray Nissan Altima from Service and Mitchell roads and when he checked the license plate, it showed registration to a Chrysler. Officer Pinon pulled over driver Mario Hernandez, 40, of Turlock, and arrested him for forging/altering vehicle registration. His passenger, Michael Phan, 44, of Keyes was arrested for a felony warrant issued by Modesto Police Department.
