Ceres Police Officer Juan Ramos recovered a stolen pickup and took an alleged car thief off the streets of Ceres Saturday afternoon.

Ramos was patrolling the 2500 block of Hatch Road at 3:57 p.m. when he began following an orange-colored Ford F-150 reported as stolen. Driver Osvaldo Guillen Lara, 24, of Turlock drove to the rear of a business complex at 2503 Hatch Road and that’s when Officer Ramos initiated a high-risk vehicle stop. Additional officers arrived to remove Lara from the vehicle. He was arrested and booked on charges of auto theft in the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
