Two occupants of a vehicle stopped for traffic violations on Wednesday morning, Sept. 26 were arrested for drug possession.

At 8:08 a.m., Officer Brian Petersen stopped a car driven by Luis Leon, 35, of Tracy, in the 2400 block of Whitmore Avenue. He was found to be driving without a license and as he stepped out of the car he dropped a bag of suspected methamphetamine. He was arrested without incident.

His passenger, Ana Ramirez, 24, of Patterson, was searched and found with a tar-like substance in her purse which turned out to be heroin. Both Ramirez and Leon were booked for possession of a controlled substance.
