Expired license tags led to a Saturday morning traffic stop in which two persons were arrested.
At 10:19 a.m. Officer Charles Hernandez conducted a stop on a car with expired registration in the parking lot of Ace Hardware. Passenger Andreas Cardon, 47, of Ceres, was found to be on parole so a parole search was conducted on the vehicle. Hernandez located two bindles of methamphetamine on the passenger seat and booked Cardon for possession of methamphetamine and a parole violation.
The search also turned up a Glock .32 caliber handgun and 31 grams of methamphetamine in a purse belonging to driver Sandra Marquez, 35, of Ceres. She was arrested and was booked for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a loaded handgun in a vehicle and being a felon in possession of a handgun.
