Two arrested outside Farmer Boys restaurant

Two Hughson residents were arrested in the parking lot of Farmer Boys on Mitchell Road Friday morning after they were seen slumped over in a car.

The pair were sleeping after taking illegal drugs, said Ceres Police Lt. Brent Smith.

Officer Jon Vera made contact with the two at 8:30 a.m. and found drug paraphernalia inside the car and a small amount of black tar heroin. He arrested Heather Lambert, 20, of Hughson, on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. Lambert also had a warrant for her arrest issued by Turlock Police for possession of drug paraphernalia.

James Johnson, 23, of Hughson, was arrested possession of a controlled substance.

The vehicle was towed.

In other cases Ceres Police reported these incidences:

• DUI ARREST IN WEST CERES - A Ceres resident with a history of drunken driving received another same charge against him after he was stopped on Saturday morning after allegedly drinking and climbing behind the wheel.

At 3:28 a.m. Officer Brittany England stopped the driver of a 2008 Mazda Protégé on Georgeanne Place for failing to stop at Morgan Road and Aristocrat Way. Christopher Legaspi, 35, of Ceres, was followed to his home. England believed that he had been drinking and gave him a field sobriety test that indicated that he had a blood alcohol content of 0.19.

Legaspi was on probation for DUI from three prior felony convictions. He was booked on charges of felony DUI, driving on a suspended license and failure to stop at a stop sign.

• DRUGS LAND MAN IN JAIL - Johnathan Hadley, 22, of Ceres, was arrested Sunday on charges of violating probation and possession of a controlled substance after he was found with several prescription pills that he was not prescribed.

Police received a call about a suspicious person at Food 4 Less at 10:54 p.m., which led to Hadley. Officer Mike Vierra arrived and detained Hadley.


• WARRANT ARREST MADE - Officer Brian Peterson attempted to stop the driver of a 1999 Lincoln Navigator on Service Road on Wednesday, April 23, but the driver made a failed attempt to elude him by quickly making a turn into the driveway at 3916 Blaker Road. Peterson learned that the driver, Abel Arelleno, 25, of Ceres, was driving on a suspended license and had warrants for his arrest. Arelleno was also at his house and it was searched for probation violations at 11:50 p.m.

Inside the home was Gregory Gonzales, 25, who was wanted on multiple warrants as well.
