Unlicensed driver stopped in stolen BMW

A 40-year-old Modesto woman was escorted to jail by Ceres Police on Thursday afternoon after she was stopped in a stolen BMW 320i for code violations and found to be driving on a suspended license.

Officer Juan Ramos was patrolling the area of Service Road and Cornucopia Way at 4:47 p.m. when he stopped Claudia Gomez, 40, of Modesto. Her license had been revoked for a prior DUI conviction. During the stop, Officer Ramos learned the vehicle was reported as stolen. Gomez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle and driving with a suspended license for DUI.
