Wanted man tries to flee from police
Ceres Cop Car

A police canine was used to get Randell Keene, 50, of Ceres, to comply during his arrest on a felony no-bail warrant on Monday, June 6.

During the incident police also arrested Jennifer Lilly, 55, of Ceres, for delaying or obstructing police.

At 9:40 a.m. Officer Justin Canatsy was in the area of El Camino and Don Pedro when he spotted Keene. As soon as Keene saw the officer he took off running into an apartment unit in the 2600 block of Don Pedro Road. Police surrounded the facility before officers knocked on the door. When a man answered the officers entered the unit where they found Keene lying on a bed holding a seven-year-old child. The child was removed. Officers gave Keene multiple commands but he did not comply so Officer Coey Henson released his canine, Dex, to subdue him.

Keene was arrested on the warrant.
