A 54-year-old Ceres parolee at-large was apprehended in the Walmart parking lot early Tuesday, Oct. 5 because of warrants for his arrest.

At 12:08 a.m., Officer Eric Souza was patrolling the parking lot when the store was closed and saw a maroon Ford F-250 occupied by two individuals. When they saw Officer Souza, they began walking away from the pickup, leaving it unoccupied with the windows down. Officer Souza stopped both and checked for warrants. David Wilburn Russell, 54, of Ceres, had a felony no-bail warrant issued by another state and a Ceres Police issued misdemeanor warrant for a theft.

Russell was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the warrants.
