A Ceres Police officer apprehended a wanted parolee on Aug. 30 as he loitered outside of a closed Little Caesar’s Pizza in the 1300 block of Hatch Road.

At 11:46 p.m. Officer Eric Souza spotted Christopher Smith, 36, and knew him to be on parole from state prison. A warrant check revealed Smith had an outstanding warrant for his arrest issued by the California Department of Corrections. Officer Souza arrested Smith and booked him into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
