Reports of a man standing in the road waving his arms led police to investigate and make an arrest Sunday morning for five arrest warrants relating to drug offenses.

At 4:30 a.m. Officer Charles Rushing was dispatched to the area of Walmart regarding the usual acting man. Officer Rushing located Robert Blair, 25, of Newman and stopped to talk to him. Blair claimed that his car had just been stolen by a female passenger who took off after he stopped to buy a soda from a vending machine in front of Walmart. But Officer Rushing learned that no vehicles are registered to Blair who was unable to provide details of the vehicle.

Blair was arrested without incident.
