Woman, 34, booked for auto theft

A 34-year-old Modesto woman was jailed during a Wednesday, Feb. 21 traffic stop initiated by a Ceres Police officer.

Officer Jessica Graham was patrolling the area of Mitchell Road and Whitmore Avenue at 4:40 p.m. when she began following a Ford F-150 pickup and learned it was stolen. She pulled over the driver, Karissa Freitas, 34, of Modesto, near the intersection of Mitchell Road and Tenaya Drive and conducted a high-risk stop when additional officers arrived.

Freitas had an outstanding warrant for battery and was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center where she was booked for auto theft and the warrant.
