A traffic stop for expired vehicle registration led to the arrest of a female driver for auto theft on Saturday.
A Ceres patrol officer stopped Jaqueline Markley, 27, of Modesto, in a brown Honda Accord in the area of Rockefeller Drive and Whitmore Avenue at 10:07 a.m. Markley was found to have a suspended license and was in possession of methamphetamine. Officers learned that the vehicle had switched plates and that the car had been reported stolen out of Turlock.
Markley was arrested on charges of auto theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of methamphetamine and probation violation.
