The Ceres Community Center is seeing lots of various uses.

The Ceres Community Center celebrated its grand opening four years ago on June 16.

Located at 2701 4th Street in downtown Ceres, the $6.8 million facility covers 25,623 square feet.

The center has hosted wedding receptions, parties, luncheons, dinners, corporate outings, dances, family gatherings, picnics, meetings, exhibitions, special events and community-wide celebrations.

Reservations for use of the Center can be made through the Recreation Division.

Available rooms are: Large Assembly, Small Assembly, Kitchen, Conference Room, Classroom, Meeting Room, Senior Room and Patio Area.

"We pride ourselves in meeting the needs of our customers," said Traci Farris, recreation supervisor. "Some clients have had multiple parties here. That makes us feel good. Obviously, we're doing something right."

Rental revenue for Large Assembly, Small Assembly, Kitchen, Classroom and Meeting Room from June 2012 to June 2013 was $186,000.

"Seventy five percent of our special event rentals on the weekends are wedding receptions," Farris said. "The majority of rental revenue comes from the rental of the Large Assembly. It's our most popular room. We're booked solid. We only have one or two Saturdays open for the rest of the year."

Space will be rented for eight wedding receptions, five Quinceaneras, one 25th Anniversary party, one graduation party, one baby shower and one Ceres Unified School District event during the months of June, July and August.
"We're really accommodating when working with any kind of culture," Farris said.

Rental prices (Ceres Residents, Commercial/Non-Resident, Non-Profit Local, Non-Profit/Non-Local) are listed in a Fee and Service Guide at http://ci.ceres.ca.us/.

Cost to rent the 5,131-square foot Large Assembly room with the capacity of 300 people for a wedding reception on a Saturday for Ceres residents is $275 for four consecutive hours, $1,280 for 10 consecutive hours or $94 hourly. A security deposit of $750 will also be collected. Rental fee for the adjacent kitchen is $108, excluding a $100 security deposit.

Rancho San Miguel Markets held a Job Fair at the Ceres Community Center on Feb. 3 and 4.

Store officials received 2,400 applications for 100 job positions.

Save Mart, Food 4 Less and Food Maxx have also rented space at the facility, along with Ceres Rotary, Ceres Youth Soccer Organization and Ceres youth football programs.

"We have a very nice facility," Farris said. "We hear a lot of positive feedback. We're competitively priced. We don't have unrealistic requirements. We give people a lot of freedom."
