The Ceres Lions Club honored a number of members at a meeting last week.

Errol Fiskin was named “Lion of the Year” for his involvement in the Ceres service club.

Ceres Lions Club of California is a community service organization chartered in 1947. Its parent is Lions Clubs International.

Jake Roberts received the “Board Member of the Year” award. His son Austin Roberts was named one of four young members honored with the “Rising Star Award.” Others given the award with plaques were Dominic Durossete, Luis Calderon and Russell Davis.

Longtime Lions Club member Richard McKay was honored with the Ron Ivey Humanitarian Award for meritorious service to the club.

Member Kenny Burrow received the “Rocky Fisher Get’er Done” Award. The plaque recognized Burrow for “willingness to ensure the job gets done and to be there to assist their fellow Lions in any way possible.”

Ray Smith received the Art McRae Sportsmanship Award “in recognition of exemplary teamwork and sportsmanship.”
