Hughson woman hurt in crash that killed Turlock man
Walnut death scene
Tuesday's fatal crash occurred where Walnut Avenue stops at Bradbury Road southwest of Turlock.

A Hughson woman was injured in a deadly crash that took place southwest of Turlock Tuesday evening.

The crash occurred at Walnut Avenue at Bradbury Road at 4:15 p.m.

The identity of a 42-year-old Turlock man was not made public.

Sustaining major injuries was Jacklyn Frost, 58, of Hughson. She was rushed to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the 42-year-old male driver was southbound on Walnut Avenue in a 2017 Toyota Corolla. He approached the intersection of Bradbury Road – where Walnut ends – at a high rate of speed and blew through the stop sign as Frost entered the intersection from a westbound direction in her 2000 Toyota Tacoma pickup at approximately 55 mph. The front of Frost’s vehicle collided with the driver side of the Corolla. The impact sent the Corolla into a wood post and metal cable at the edge of an orchard and collided with an almond tree. The male driver was dead at the scene.

The CHP’s preliminary investigation did not reveal if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.
