MTC Distributing made a generous donation to the CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive.

The Modesto area California Highway Patrol has officially kicked off its annual CHiPs for Kids toy drive.

The CHP is encouraging the public to help make a difference by donating a new unwrapped toy, sporting good or game. All donations will go to a nonprofit within the community who will distribute the toys to children within Stanislaus County.

The CHiPs for Kids program began 32 years ago and couldn’t be done without the help of the community.

“Our goal is to make a difference in a child’s life while maintaining trust within the community and building positive relationships,” said CHP spokesperson Officer Tom Olsen.

Donations can be dropped off at the Modesto Area CHP, 4030 Kiernan Ave. during normal business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The deadline to donate is Dec. 22.

“This year has been so difficult for so many. Together, we can bring joy to those less fortunate in our community,” Olsen said.
