A domestic argument between a 32-year-old Modesto man and his wife Sunday prompted a freeway chase between the two in which he died after losing control and crashing in Ceres.

The California Highway Patrol said that David Donelson sustained fatal injuries at around noon when he was ejected on the southbound Mitchell Road off-ramp after trying to ram her car. Donelson was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

A witness told the CHP that they saw the chase occurring on the freeway in Modesto that continued into Ceres. Donelson was driving a Honda sedan closely behind the car driven by his wife, Jennifer Donelson, 36, of Modesto. Donelson was seen positioning his car in front of hers and hitting his brakes near Hatch Road. The witness saw the two cars exiting the freeway at Mitchell Road just prior to the deadly crash. There Mr. Donelson was seen possibly trying to ram his wife's car when he lost control and hit the embankment where he was ejected.
Jennifer Donelson was not injured.

On Monday Jennifer Donelson posted a message in which she tagged her dead husband: "How am I supposed to do this without you?"

The couple had two girls, according to their Facebook page.
