Nominations sought for 'Citizen of the Year'

The Ceres Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for its "Citizen of the Year" and "Young Citizen of the Year" nominations and the community is encouraged to participate.

Since 1970, the Ceres Chamber of Commerce has recognized outstanding members of the Ceres community who have made extraordinary contributions in community service.

Nominations may be made online at Cereschamber.com or in the Ceres Chamber office located at 2938-A Fourth Street in Ceres until the end of the year. All nominees will be invited to the Chamber's 46thAnnual Awards & Installation Dinner in January, at which time the winners will be announced.

In addition to the Citizens of the Year awards, the Chamber will be giving out awards in the categories of Distinguished Service, Volunteer of the Year, Business of the Year, Downtown Business of the Year, and Legacy, which honors individuals and/or businesses that have contributed through service, support or volunteer efforts, to the Ceres community for more than 40 years.

The banquet is slated for 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30 at the Ceres Community Center. Tickets are $35 per person. Sponsorship tables seating for eight also may be purchased and includes complimentary wine and sponsor recognition during the event. The banquet will also call for installation of new officers.
