The west side of Ceres now boasts a new insurance office.
Seguro MAX opened on Oct. 6 and was welcomed to Ceres by the Chamber of Commerce during a recent ribbon cutting. The business closed its office on McHenry Avenue in Modesto and relocated to 1578 E. Whitmore Avenue, Suite A in Ceres.
While most insurance services are done all online, SeguroMax offers storefront services with full service. Previously as part of Alert Insurance Services, Inc., the business solely focused on commercial insurance. SeguroMax, however, offers auto, home, boat, motorcycle, life and health and renter’s insurance. They even can secure jewelry insurance.
“We felt like we were missing the local community, the storefront where people could walk in and get insurance,” said Aman Puwar, one of the company owners. Other owners are his parents, Vikram and Parminder Puwar. He noted that most customers want to interact with their insurance people face to face.
SeguroMAX is actually incorporated as Alert Insurance Services, Inc.
“A lot of these companies, if there’s a claim, you get to call in online to get your claims done. We help them file the things. It’s not just we get them insured; we make sure if there’s a claim they can come in and we can help them file a claim and help them out.”
Last week Puwar noted that he was working on securing a $1 million payment for a claim on a Stockton commercial building lost to fire.
He has managed to get insurance coverage for commercial buildings with problems from which an insurance company would normally shy away.
“We do anything – from the easiest to the hardest.”
Agent Karen Mina handles home and auto policies in the Ceres office while Tanveer Kaur handles renter’s insurance.
“We broker with all the companies; we work with about 152 companies and try to get the lowest rates we can.”
Puwar said SeguroMAX aims to expand in the coming years to multiple offices in different cities.
Beginning next month the Ceres office will be added DMV services and tax preparation services for the convenience of residents. In the near future Seguro MAX plans to offer utility payment collections for PG&E and TID bills.
