The crash of this Ford on Keyes Road Thursday morning led to the manhunt of its driver, Alejandro Ruvalcaba (inset) who is believed to have murdered a man in Stockton on Wednesday evening.

Authorities are searching for a San Joaquin County suspect wanted for murder suspect who crashed his car on Keyes Road Thursday morning and ran from the scene with a gun.

Law enforcement received reports of a 6 a.m. crash in the 8200 block of Keyes Road near Berkeley Road in which the driver, later identified as Alejandro Ruvalcaba, 32, ran away as he announced he had a gun. One truck driver reported that the suspect tried to get a ride from him. Ruvalcaba was last seen running into an orchard. A perimeter was set up around the area for three hours while the search for the suspect included the Sheriff’s helicopter and canines.

Ruvalcaba is suspected of shooting to death Anthony Quismondo, 42, on Wednesday evening in the 2600 block of East Waterloo Road in Stockton. Stockton Police officials believe the victim was intending to buy a pair of shoes from Quismondo but it ended up being a robbery that went badly.

Ruvalcaba is easily identifiable because of a missing right eye and the word STOCKTON tattooed above his left eye. He was described as standing 5-foot-10, weighing about 155 pounds with black hair.

Anyone with information about the homicide is asked to contact the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office at (209) 468-4400.
