A Mass was held Monday at St. Jude's Catholic Church for Alfredo E. Garcia, 87, of Ceres. He died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005 at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
Burial was at Jaripo Municipal Cemetery under the direction of the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs.
Born June 13, 1918, Mr. Garcia was a native of Jaripo, Michoacn, Mexico, and had lived in Ceres since 1973. He had retired after a 20-year career as a cannery worker for TriValley Growers. Mr. Garcia was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church.
He leaves behind 11 children, Maria Garcia, Jose Garcia, Graciela Garcia, Alfredo Garcia and Jesus Garcia, all of Modesto, Reyna Garcia, Juan Garcia and Rafael Garcia, all of Ceres, Guillermina Garcia of San Jose, Heriberto Garcia of Riverbank and Ramiro Garcia of Las Vegas; three brothers, Rodolfo Garcia, Abel Garcia and Gabriel Garcia, all of Mexico; two sisters, Raquel Garcia of Van Nuys and Telbina Garcia of Mexico; and 28 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Ochoa Garcia.
