The rosary was held Thursday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel, and a Mass on Friday at St. Jude's Catholic Church for Alfredo Murillo, 49, of Ceres. He died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005 at his home.

Burial was at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Modesto.

Born Aug. 27, 1955, Mr. Murillo was a native of Modesto and lifelong resident of Ceres. He was a nurseryman for 30 years and owned Murillo Nursery in Ceres. He was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church. Mr. Murrillo served on the board and had a booth at the farmers market in Modesto. He enjoyed coaching at the Red Shield and enjoyed politics, coaching, sports and movies.

He leaves behind his wife, Patricia Murillo of Ceres; four children, Freddie Murillo, Jacquelyn Murillo, Michael Murillo and Marcus Murillo, all of Ceres; his parents, Juan and Juana Murillo of Ceres; five brothers, Efren Martinez, Alfonso Martinez, Rudy Murillo and Guadalupe Murillo, all of Ceres, and Jose Murillo of Modesto; four sisters, Mary Criswell and Corry Padilla, both of Modesto, and Jini Arteaga and Isabel Cardenas, both of Turlock. He was preceded in death by one brother; and one sister.
