A Mass was held Friday at St. Jude's Catholic Church for Andres Raya, 19, of Modesto. He died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005 in Ceres.
Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Lakewood Funeral Home.
Born April 17, 1985, Mr. Raya was a native and lifelong resident of the Ceres-Modesto area. He served in the Marine Corps. He was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres.
He leaves behind his parents, Tomas and Julia Raya of South Modesto; his two brothers, Rene Raya and Tomas Raya Jr., both of Modesto; two sisters, Alicia D. Gutierrez of Reedley and Jessica Jasso of Greensboro, N.C.; and grandparents, Antonio and Carmen Raya of Texas and Dolores Cortez of Modesto.
