A service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lakewood Funeral Home for Benny Torrez, 76, of Ceres. He died Friday, April 8, 2005 at Doctors Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Born Aug. 3, 1928, Mr. Torrez was a native of Chama, N.M., and lived in Ceres for 18 years, and previously in Fremont for 15 years. Mr. Torrez was a machinist for the food industry. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.
Mr. Torrez leaves behind his wife, Helen Torrez of Ceres; two children, Janet Williamson of Modesto and Gary Torrez of Vancouver, Wash.; and eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
