A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15 at Samaritan Village, 7700 Fox Road, Hughson, for Blanche Froning, 94, of Hughson. She died on Jan. 5, 2011 in Modesto with her family at her side.

P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home in Manteca is in charge of arrangements.

Born on May 26, 1916 in Iowa, Blanche was a country school teacher in Garrison, Iowa, prior to becoming a homemaker. She and husband W.W. "Bud" Froning raised four children. Mrs. Froning was the music director at her church for many years. She lived in Dana Point before moving to the Samaritan Village retirement community in Hughson. Blanche enjoyed her life as a resident of Samaritan Village where she had many wonderful friends.

She leaves behind her beloved partner of many years, Ken Amann; four children, Dan Froning of Ogden, Iowa, Sylvia Mundt of Hughson, Thera Cavin of Lodi, and Tom Froning of Littleton, Colo.; and 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband W.W. "Bud" Froning.
