A funeral service is set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel for former Ceres resident Edith Mildred Parris Reavis, 87. The Sequim, Washington resident died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005 at Olympic Care and Rehab Center in Sequim.

Burial will be at Ceres Memorial Park.

Born Dec. 7, 1917, Mrs. Reavis was a native of Shawnee, Okla., and lived in Ceres from 1954 to 1999. She moved to Sacramento and then to Sequim in 2004. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of God of the Evening Light. Mrs. Reavis enjoyed reading, crocheting, Christian music and being outdoors, especially in the spring time.

She leaves behind three children, Bob Reavis of Sequim, Wash., Don Reavis of Turlock and Marquetta Reavis of San Diego; three sisters, Irene Belyeau and Lena Mae Parris, both of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Lucille Lynch of Dallas, Texas; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Robert Lee Reavis, daughter Marilyn Ewell, brother Russell Parris and sisters Lorena Magnino and Helen Stiffler.
