A Mass was held Tuesday at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres for Fernando Lopez Martinez, 22, of Modesto. He died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005 at Doctors Medical Center.
Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Evins Funeral Home.
Born May 12, 1982, Mr. Martinez was native of Houston and lived in Modesto all his life. He worked as a heating, ventilation and air conditioning installer in Livermore for four years. Fernando enjoyed football, basketball and fishing.
He leaves behind his companion, Christina Balagot of Modesto; his stepdaughter, Elaina Garza of Modesto; his father, Eloy Hernandez of Houston; his mother, Emilie Lopez of Ceres; seven brothers, Mario Martinez, Jesse Martinez and Lorenzo Martinez, all of Modesto, Michael Lopez of Ceres, Angel Martinez of Las Vegas, and Eloy Hernandez Jr. and Josue Hernandez, both of Houston; his sister, Susana Jauregui of Chihuahua, Mexico; and his grandparents, Loretta Martinez of Ceres and Rosalio Herrera of Ceres.
