The Neptune Society of Central California was in charge of arrangements for Florence May Murray Silva, 86, of Sonora. The former Ceres resident died Dec. 9, 2010 in Sonora.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.

Born Jan. 1, 1924 in Blythe, Florence lived in Ceres from about 1955 to 1975, then moved to Modesto. She moved to Sonora three years ago. Mrs. Silva worked for 23 years as a nut sorter at the Haig Berberian Cannery in Modesto. She attended St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Modesto. After retirement 20 years ago she enjoyed golfing and RV traveling with friends and her husband of 65 years, Joseph Silva.

She leaves behind her children, David Silva of Mariposa, Joanne Layne of Twain Harte and Judi Sudhoff of Sonora; and seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Joseph two years ago.
