A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008 at Lakewood Funeral Home for Jerry Wayne Moore, 52, of Stevenson. He died at his home on Sept.3, 2008.
Born Oct. 22, 1955 as the first born of Charles and Hazel Moore, Jerry grew up in Hughson. He graduated from Hughson High School in 1973. In his youth he enjoyed FFA and raising pigs, karate and snowskiing. Jerry moved to Hilmar and lived there and in Stevinson most of his adult life. He worked 17 years at ConAgra Foods and 14 years at DFA in Hilmar. Mr. Moore was a supervisor and a fantastic forklift driver and won numberous forklift competitions. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, the Dodgers and the Rams.
He leaves behind his daughter, Melissa Dickens of Jamestown; his brother, Randy Moore of Hughson; two sisters, Sandee Endres of Modesto and Julie Martin of Hughson; his mother, Hazel Moore of Hughson; and two grandsons, Maddox and Mason. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Moore.
