A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon for John Mark Paladichuk, 55, of Ceres. He died Dec. 22, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Stockton.

Arrangements are being handled by Deegan Funeral Chapel.

Born Sept. 4, 1955 in Missoula, Montana to John and Wilma Paladichuk. He attended school in Harlowton, Montana, Hoopa, Calif., and Escalon and attended Delta College in Stockton. While playing football for Escalon High School he received the Lloyd Engel Outstanding Athlete Award in 1973. John enlisted in the Army, serving in Ft. Bragg, N.C., Ft. Sill, Okla., and Schofield Army Base in Hawaii. He lived in Ceres after marrying Debbie almost 30 years ago. Mr. Paladichuk worked at Purina Plant for many years, then began a new career laying tile. He became disabled under his condition worsened and entered physical rehabilitation. He was never without his cowboy hat, and he loved sports, especially football and was an avid Raider fan. John loved his family and really enjoyed being a grandparent.

He leaves behind his wife, Debbie Paladichuk of Ceres; his daughter, Taylor of Ceres; his step daughter Erin Coley of Oakdale; his parents, John and Wilma Paladichuk of Escalon; his brother, Todd Paladichuk of Jackson, Tenn.; his sister, DeeAnn Goodman of LaGrange; and four grandchildren, Landon, Carson, Caden and Brooklyn.
