A funeral Mass was held Wednesday at St. Jude's Catholic Church for Jose T. Yniquez, 94, of Modesto. He died Feb. 3, 2010 with loved ones by his side.
Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Yniquez was born June 1, 1915.
He leaves behind his children, Christina Tapia of Modesto, Martha Amaya and Elizabeth Garcia, and Annia Gusman, all of Ceres, and Jose Espinoza of Fresno; his sister, Terri Islas of Turlock; his brother, Miguel Tapia of San Francisco; his grandchildren, including Juan Jose Carreon, David Carreon, Jesus Carreon, and Adan Carreon of Modesto, Elvia Carreon of Seattle, Wash., Erica Methvin, Michael Amaya, Nikki Amaya, Willie Garcia, and Brianna Garcia, all of Ceres; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Virginia.
