A memorial service was held Monday at First Missionary Baptist Church for Kathleen Beckler Bonds, 53, of Ceres. She died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005 at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.

An inurnment is pending at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery near Santa Nella. Eaton Family Funeral & Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.

Born April 16, 1951, Mrs. Bonds was a native of Little Rock, Ark., and lived in Ceres for six years. She lived in Stanislaus County for 20 years. Mrs. Bonds was a nurse's aide for 10 years. A graduate of Escalon High School, she belonged to First Missionary Baptist Church in Ceres. Mrs. Bonds enjoyed music, piano and writing poems.

She leaves behind her husband, Mike Bonds of Ceres; two children, Aaron Bonds and Nathan Bonds, both of Chico; her parents, Cecil and Waldo Wilson of Modesto; two sisters, Sharon Hanna of Lodi and Debra Clement of Modesto; and one grandchild.
