A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 11 at Ceres Christian Church, 3502 Roeding Rd., Ceres, for Leon L. Jones, 63, of Hughson. He died Feb. 22, 2010.

Leon was born June 2, 1947. He was known as the master crafter of the classic street rod upholstery world and owned Leon's Auto Upholstery for 28 years. He was known for his contagious laughter, his helping hand and a heart of gold for those around him.

He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Shirley Jones of Hughson; two daughters, Katherine Brown of Ceres, and Felicia Martinez of Hughson; six grandchildren, Steven Brown and Justin Brown, both of Hickman, Megan Brown of Ceres, Ellen Klenk of Patterson, and Avery Martinez and Malia Martinez, both of Denair; and his extended sons, Richard Torres and Jim Daniels. He was preceded in death by mother Gladys Mae Jones Thomas, father Ronald Valcrest Jones, and brother Chester Lamar Jones.

Remembrances may be sent to the Leon Jones Memorial Fund at the Hughson branch of the Bank of the West.
