Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel was in charge of private services for Leonard William Taylor, 82, of Hughson. He died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005 at his home.

Born July 16, 1922, Mr. Taylor was a native of Manila, the Philippines, and lived in Hughson for three years. He was an oiler with the National Maritime Union for 35 years. Mr. Taylor was an actor and singer in the Philippines. He was a member of American Legion Post 872. Mr. Taylor enjoyed the San Francisco Giants and 49ers, and animals.

He leaves behind his wife, Esther Taylor of Hughson; seven children, Willie Taylor of Waterford, Ken Taylor and Shirley Badua, both of San Diego, Eve Diwa of Upland, Sonny Taylor of San Leandro, and Robin Carver and Dorothy Taylor, both of Savannah, Ga.; his brother, Robert Taylor of Houston; two sisters, Bella Taylor and Carrie Taylor, both of Manila, the Philippines; and 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
