A graveside service was held Monday at Lakewood Memorial Park for Lillian Arlene Bilyeu, 84, of Ceres. She died on Dec. 26, 2008.

Allen Mortuary in Turlock was in charge of arrangements.

Born April 1924, Lillian was the second oldest of seven children born to Sidney "Albert" and Velma Lee Warthan. In 1945 she married John "Howard" Bilyeu in Hugo, Okla., and moved to Ceres in 1952, where she has resided for 56 years. Mrs. Bilyeu was a member of the Richland Faith Assembly of God Church and the Ceres Senior Citizens Club.

She leaves behind two children, Pamela J. Clark of Turlock and John H. Bilyeu of Ceres; three sisters, Margaret Satterfield of Ceres, and Wanda Wilson and Joe Ann Conway, bothof Modesto; her grandchildren, Apryl DeJarnett, Joe Azevedo, Michael Clark, Brian Clark, Ted Bilyeu, Chris Bilyeu, Stacey Bilyeu, Shawn Bilyeu and Dennis Clark Jr.; and her great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Troy, Jordann, Cheyenne, Shania, Christopher, Conor, Brittney, Leah, Lauren, Jay, David, Stephanie, Nick, Aaron and Austin; and three great-great-grandchildren Gunner, Gauge and Katlynn. She was preceded in death by husband Howard Bilyeu Sr., parents Albert and Velma Warthan, and brothers Jack, Sidney and Marvin Warthan.
