A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. today at Lakewood Memorial Park's Peacevale Garden for Lucille "G.G." L. McEwen, 95, of Ceres. She died May 25, 2011.

Lakewood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born July 15, 1915 in Livingston, Texas, Lucille came to California in 1944. She enjoyed dancing and gardening, was a past member of the Old Time Fiddlers and the Ceres Senior Citizens Club. She attended Ceres Methodist Church.

She leaves behind two children John W. Board of Woody, Mabel Newton of Ceres; her sister, Ruth Crabtree of Texas; four grandchildren, Rodney Maddex of Lindsay, Karen Lowery of Ceres, and Tina Berns and Keith Newton, both of Modesto; and six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by husband William McEwen, son Jimmie Ray Board, siblings Anson Henderson, Violet West, Margie Lee, Merle Kinsey, Dorothy Brookmole, and parents Gertrude Galloway and John Henderson.
