A Mass was held Thursday at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres for Maria Argueta-Albarran, 73, of Modesto. She died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 at Doctors Medical Center.

Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Born Aug. 29, 1931, Mrs. Argueta-Albarran was a native of Santa Inez, Mexico, and lived in Modesto for 16 years. She was a homemaker.

She leaves behind her husband, Bernardino Martinez of Modesto; nine children, Raquel Martinez of Ceres, Matilda Martinez of Mexico, Javier Martinez of Stockton, and Thomas Martinez, Arturo Martinez, Ernesto Martinez, Angel Martinez, Armando Martinez and Serafin Martinez, all of Modesto; four brothers, Refugio Albarran, Adolfo Albarran, Francisco Albarran and Serafin Albarran, all of Mexico; her sister, Ester Argueta-Albarran of Mexico; and 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
