A memorial service was held on Friday at First Baptist Church of Ceres for Marilyn Dee Choate, 74, of Ceres. She died July 13, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness.

Cunningham's Burial Service was in charge of arrangements.

Born April 23, 1935 Marilyn was born in Texas as one of 12 children of the late William Dee Page and Ruby Farris Page. Marilyn lived in Ceres for 47 years, all that time married to Aubrey "Curtis" Choate. She worked as a psychiatric nurse until 1971, before deciding to stay home as a wife and homemaker. Marilyn enjoyed cooking for her family, reading, gardening, laughing, and spending time with all her grandchildren.

She leaves behind her husband, Aubrey Curtis Choate of Ceres; her son, Michael Choate; her brother, Gilbert Page; four sisters, Hattie Marx, Juanita Williams, Darlene Blair and Shirley Peace; and her grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Victor Jilg, Brooke Choate, Rachel Choate, Mia Choate, Amber Janossy, Erika Bucheli, William Bucheli and Kirsten Bucheli. She was preceded in death by daughter Janice Jilg.
