A memorial service was held Monday at the Place of Refuge Assembly of God church in Manteca for Marion "Gib" Sutton, 100, of Modesto. The former Hughson resident died Nov. 30, 2010 in Modesto.
Mr. Sutton was born July 16, 1910, and married Gladys Blair on Oct. 1, 1932. In 1936 they moved to Tracy. Gib and Gladys built three homes to accommodate a growing family. After his wife died in 1999, Gib moved to Beth Haven in Ripon, later to Samaritan Village in Hughson and finally to the Sundial in Modesto.
He leaves behind a son, Bill Sutton; three daughters, Bobbie Sutton, Sharon Lewis, and Judy Spina; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
