A funeral will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel for Mary Catherine Newberry Hilton, 82, of Ceres. She died Thursday, March 3, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
Burial will follow at Ceres Memorial Park.
Born May 23, 1922, Mrs. Hilton was a native of Sentinel, Okla., and had lived in Ceres since 1944. She worked in the S&W Fine Foods food processing plant for 35 years. Mrs. Hilton was a member of First Baptist Church of Ceres, Sovereign Grace Baptist Church of Modesto and the S&W Retirees Luncheon Club. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and making fudge.
Mrs. Hilton leaves behind four children, Portia A. Bourke of Monterey, Cleo M. Page of Ceres, Angela J. Shepherd of Denair and Lee R. Hilton of Modesto; her brother, William O. Newberry of Modesto; her sister, Dorothy M. Williams of Modesto; and eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hilton.
