Lakewood Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Mary Willie Schmutzler, 84, of Turlock. She died Friday, March 4, 2005 at Hy-Lond Convalescent Hospital in Modesto.

Born June 2, 1920, Mrs. Schmutzler was a native of Texas and lived in Stanislaus County for 55 years. She was a homemaker and member of Central Baptist Church of Ceres. Mrs. Schmutzler was a life-member of the North American Hunting Club. She enjoyed quilting, playing the piano and guitar, and singing.
She leaves behind her son, Archie Kaphan of Modesto; and one grandchild.
