A graveside service was held Monday afternoon at Ceres Memorial Park for Roy Loyal Cummings, 87, of Ceres. He died Friday, April 15, 2005 at Evergreen Rehabilitation Care in Modesto.

Cunningham's Affordable Burial and Cremation Centers was in charge of arrangements.

Born March 31, 1918, Mr. Cummings was a native of Oklahoma and lived in Ceres for 33 years. He was a can labeler at a cannery. Mr. Cummings was a member of Assembly of God Church in Keyes and the Cannery Workers Union. He enjoyed fishing, camping and family excursions.

Mr. Cummings leaves behind his wife, Gladys M. Cummings of Modesto; his son, Kenneth Cummings of Manteca; two brothers, Jesse Cummings of Modesto and Clarence Cummings of Fresno; three sisters, Leona Taylor of Ceres, Josephine Williams of Sonora and Helen Spitzer of Fresno; and seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
