The McHenry Chapel of Franklin & Downs was in charge for private services for Thomas Dennis Philpot, 80, of Modesto. He died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center.

Born Sept. 16, 1924, Mr. Philpot was a native of San Francisco and had lived in Modesto since 1985 and previously lived in Danville. Mr. Philpot was a labor relations consultant for 35 years. He was a member of Smyrna Masonic Lodge 532 and Order of the Eastern Star, both in Ceres, as well as Stockton Scottish Rite and Aahmes Shrine Temple. Mr. Philpot also belonged to the Order of Bruce.

He leaves behind his wife, Margaret Philpot of Modesto; two children, Robert Philpot of Eureka and Kathleen Jean Martin of Fortuna; two sisters, Janet Reid of Oakley and Nancy Hyler of Tulare; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
