A funeral service was held Monday at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs in Modesto for Violet Hazel Anderson, 96, of Turlock. The former Ceres resident died May 13, 2011.
Born Dec. 29, 1914 in Ontario, Calif., Violet was raised in Ceres. She attended Faith Home Grammar School and graduated from Ceres High School. She lived in Turlock for 73 years and spent her final years at Bethel Retirement Home.
She leaves behind her children, Marla Chapman of Sacramento, Wanda Russell of Modesto and Ronald Anderson of Turlock; two sisters, Ruth Rash and Pearl Supran; her brother, David Anderson; five grandchildren, Mark Puthuff, Jana Chapman Plon, Todd Anderson, Matthew Chapman and Eric Anderson; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Floyd Anderson, brothers Harold Anderson and Myron Anderson and grandsons Scott Chapman and Monte Puthuff.
